Guided Tours at the Hotel and Restaurant Museum in Autumn 2026

Museum’s programme features two fascinating guided tours that offer fresh and surprising perspectives on history.

On Friday, 16 October 2026 at 17:00, the tour ”Stories Behind School Meals” delves into the history of Finnish school food, from early efforts to banish hunger to modern nutritional guidelines. The tour explores the significance and value of school meals, busts common myths, and invites participants to reflect on their own experiences while discovering new insights into everyday history.

On Wednesday, 11 November 2026 at 17:00, the Taste Matters tour presents diverse perspectives on food and drink culture—what it is, how it is formed, and who influences it. They say there is no accounting for taste, but it is certainly worth discussing!

The guided tour is held in Finnish. The guided tours are led by Museum Educator Aino Malminen and last approximately 45 minutes. Each tour can accommodate around 20 participants. You can join with a standard museum admission ticket or the Finnish Museum Card. No advance registration is required.

A warm welcome to discover and learn!
