Multilingual Month (Satakielikuukausi in Finnish) is a period celebrating mother tongues and linguistic diversity. It is held between International Mother Language Day (Feb 21) and World Poetry Day / International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (Mar 21). Multilingualism is showcased through various encounters, discussions, projects, art, and collaborative activities. Satakielikuukausi has been celebrated in Finland since 2015. The month is coordinated by the Multilingual Library in cooperation with the Culture for All service.
