Accessible Entrance and Moving Within the Premises
The museum entrance and ticket office are located at the Glass Courtyard of the Cable Factory. Accessible access to the Glass Courtyard is available from the Kaapeliaukio side. An automatically opening door is located under the canopy of the Dance House building, on the far right. The door button can be found on the side wall. A ramp (gradient approx. 8%) connects the factory shop to the museum lobby. The automatic door at the top of the ramp opens with a QR code available at the ticket office.
If assistance is needed, the staff at the information and ticket desk in the Glass Courtyard will provide help (phone: +358 40 1922 300). Assistants are admitted free of charge.
The museum is located on the 3rd floor, accessible via a spacious elevator. All parts of the exhibition are wheelchair-accessible. Assistants are admitted free of charge.
Accessibility Limitations:
- The buttons inside the elevator are located at a height of 970–1350 mm.
- At the museum exhibition space: the door to the home kitchen is only 820 mm wide.
- The office and information service are open by appointment. The doorway has a threshold and is locked. The ticket office can call museum staff to assist visitors at the information service. If needed, a meeting can be arranged in a space without thresholds.

Accessible Restrooms
Accessible restrooms are located in the lower lobby of the Cable Museums. The restrooms have free space on both sides of the toilet seat.
The restrooms on the third floor are marked with gender-neutral “WC” signs.
Limitations:
The sink is approximately one meter high.

Accessible Parking Spaces
It is possible to stop and park temporarily for drop-off purposes on Tammasaarenkatu. Similarly, accessible taxis can stop and drop off customers near the museums. The inner courtyard of the Cable Factory has two parking spaces marked with a wheelchair symbol for persons with reduced mobility. Free parking for persons with reduced mobility is allowed only in these marked spaces for a maximum of four hours.
On Tammasaarenkatu, there are two long-term accessible parking spaces provided by the City of Helsinki.

Service Dogs
Guide and assistance dogs are welcome in the museum.
Storage Facilities
The museum’s lower lobby has lockable storage lockers that operate without coins. There is also an unattended coat rack.
Rest Areas
The exhibition includes chairs that visitors can use for resting if needed.
Scent Sensitivity
Scents are used in our exhibition spaces.
Hearing Induction Loop
The museum does not have an induction loop system available.
